Members and Friends:

This Sunday I will be sharing some thoughts on Luke 12:13-21. This passage includes a parable shared by Jesus when asked by someone to tell his brother to divide the family inheritance with him. In the parable Jesus tells of a man who had so much grain that he had to take down his barns and build bigger ones and how when he was finished he relaxed and ate, drank and was merry. He was thus satisfied with his material life and his own wealth. Jesus pointed out that if that man's life was demanded of him that very night what good to him or whose would all his belongings be. He then said, "So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich towards God.' When I think about those who for whatever reason do not or are too busy to spend a few minutes each week enriching their relationship to God through worship and the fellowship of a church family I am drawn to these words. Being rich towards God is just a complex but yet a simple decision. Paul says that all it takes is having faith that Christ died for you. It is never top late to accept the open arms of fellow believers and to join them in songs of joy, prayers of thanksgiving, communion of the saints and the love of God. See you Sunday!

Congratulations to Stephanie and Andy Cross in the birth of their son, Logan on Monday. Logan is the grandson of John and Jean Lohr and the Great-grandson of Mildred Brown. I saw the baby and his parents on Tuesday and all are doing well.

Please keep praying for rain!
